Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. Continued use of Richardson County Criminal History signifies acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Richardson County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email message may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains internal unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may record basic technical and usage details:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Device category and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • Device IP address
  • Referring page or site, when supplied
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help analytics services combine traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block them, although some functions may then behave differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner
  • Maintain reliable and responsive pages
  • Find and repair technical faults
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Richardson County Criminal History does not build, store, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Richardson County Sheriff, local courts, Nebraska State Patrol repository, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms apply to input submitted through those tools, including retention and sharing rules beyond this site's control. Read the provider's policy before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Nebraska agencies, Richardson County offices, court systems, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy rules control. Review them before providing personal data.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. That processing is governed by the provider.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:

  • Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Advertising networks placing or measuring ads
  • A government body when disclosure is compelled by valid legal process

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service is completely secure, so absolute protection or prevention of every breach cannot be promised.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be removed.

Your Data Rights

Rights vary by the law that applies to a visitor. Nebraska's Public Records Statutes govern access to public agency records, while Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 controls public criminal-history dissemination. Those statutes do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Request deletion of eligible personal data
  • Ask what personal data is held
  • Seek correction of inaccurate data
  • Object to processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy
